Complete dental care from A to Z

Extend the natural life of your teeth and maintain good oral health with routine dental care. Regular visits to your dentist and quick intervention at the earliest sign of decay will save you from pain, discomfort and unexpected expenses. If your teeth, gums or oral health are causing problems for you, restorative dental care will put you back on the right track and make your mouth feel normal again. General dentistry puts your overall health first. Here are some of the results you can expect from preventative and restorative care:

    Preventative Care:
  • Super clean teeth that look whiter without whitening.
  • Xrays that detect problems while they’re still small.
  • Healthy gums that don’t itch or bleed.
  • Composite fillings that halt cavities in their tracks.
  • Less sensitivity from hot and cold foods.
  • Reverse and prevent tooth decay.
  • Extend the life of prosthetics and appliances.
    Restorative Dentistry:
  • Save your natural tooth from an infection
  • Replace missing teeth with a natural-looking solution
  • Repair damaged teeth to like-new condition
  • Custom-made prosthetics and appliances
  • Eat easier, sleep better and enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

Our General Dentistry services

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings fill cavities to stop them from growing or causing lasting damage to your tooth. These tooth-coloured fillings are shade-matched to your natural teeth so they look and feel completely natural.

Dental Bonding

Restore chipped or cracked teeth, or simply improve the look of healthy teeth.

Dental Bridges

Replace missing teeth and restore your complete smile with a custom dental bridge. Designed to fill gaps left by one or more missing teeth, dental bridges are securely anchored in place to improve appearance, chewing function, and overall oral health while providing a natural-looking, long-lasting solution.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns restore the strength and function of a damaged tooth while giving it a natural, healthy appearance. They're a reliable, long-term solution used throughout restorative dentistry to protect teeth that have been weakened by decay, fracture, or wear.

Dental Extractions

Tooth extractions are a common dental procedure, and with today's techniques, most patients feel little to no discomfort during treatment.

Dental Implants

A dental implant acts like a natural tooth root and is topped off with a restoration, like a dental crown, to restore full chewing function while looking and feeling like your own tooth.

Dentures

Whether you need new dentures or want to repair the full or partial dentures you already have, we can help. Today's dentures are comfortable and natural-looking, replacing several teeth or a full arch with minimal disruption to your daily life.

Root Canal

A root canal is a careful, efficient procedure that can bring immediate relief while saving your natural tooth, with most patients experiencing little to no pain along the way.

Same-Day Crowns

Custom made from start to finish in just one appointment, so there's no need for a temporary crown.

Teeth Cleanings

Routine dental cleanings and exams are essential for maintaining a healthy smile. Regular visits help remove plaque and tartar buildup, detect problems early, and reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease. Scheduling a professional cleaning and checkup every 6 to 8 months can help prevent dental discomfort and avoid more costly treatments in the future.

Preventative Dental Care: Catching Problems Early

We want to see you smile, and we mean that. Your oral health is our top priority, which is why our approach to routine dental care and early intervention comes from a genuine place of care. Keeping your teeth, gums, jaw, and tongue healthy now, and addressing problems the moment they appear, means far less pain and discomfort down the road, along with fewer unexpected dental costs. That’s what keeps our patients smiling, and it’s why preventative dentistry matters so much.

Keep Your Natural Teeth for Longer

Did you know cavities are the leading cause of tooth loss in young adults, while gum disease takes over as the top cause later in life? Good oral hygiene habits at home go a long way toward keeping your mouth strong and healthy, and during your routine dental exam, we can catch the earliest signs of gum disease and tooth decay before they have a chance to progress.

Save Money With Preventative Care

Routine teeth cleaning and exams are a relatively low-cost, predictable expense that’s easy to plan for. Treating the earliest signs of tooth decay, such as with composite fillings, also tends to be affordable and a smart long-term investment. More extensive procedures needed to correct advanced dental issues almost always come with a bigger price tag, which is exactly why early treatment pays off.

Peace of Mind, Every Day

One of the best parts of good oral health is that you don’t have to think about it at all. No aches, no inflammation, no toothache taking over your day. You can eat what you want without hesitation and smile with total confidence. Healthy, well-maintained teeth are naturally beautiful, comfortable, and dependable, exactly the way they should be.

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

A routine check-up includes a teeth cleaning and an exam. Having your teeth cleaned and examined regularly will remove stuck-on-plaque and tartar that builds up even with routine brushing and flossing and will allow the dental team to monitor your general oral health with special attention to problem areas.
Leftover food particles, especially caught in hard to reach places, become a feast for the bacteria that live in our mouths. The bacteria multiply and produce an acidic byproduct that builds up on teeth and weakens enamel. Tooth decay can be accelerated with a diet high in sugar or acidic food and drinks like coffee or soda pop.
Some people are just genetically predisposed to have more cavities than others. For example, sometimes they are simply born more susceptible to cavity-causing bacteria or they have overcrowded teeth that are difficult to clean. The best thing you or anyone can do is to focus on having great oral hygiene and eating habits at home to stack the cards in your favour.
Yes. The best part about fillings is that they prevent further tooth decay and they prevent future pain. Getting a filling now is in your best interest while the problem is still small and easily managed.
Tooth decay can be prevented and sometimes even reversed with routine cleanings. Teeth that are showing early signs of decay can be treated with fluoride and composite fillings. A tooth that has become infected can still be salvaged with a root canal. Teeth that are badly decayed can be capped with a beautiful and natural-looking dental crown or resurfaced with dental veneers. As a last resort, teeth that are very badly decayed may be extracted and the function of your bite and smile can be restored with an implant or bridge. There are many treatment options available depending on your exact circumstances.
Preventative teeth cleaning and a routine exam are encouraged and completely safe. The goal here is to prevent the onset of oral infection and to treat dental symptoms that sometimes appear during pregnancy. In the event of a dental emergency such as an infection, more invasive procedures, like a root canal, may be required. Elective procedures such as teeth whitening should be postponed until after the baby arrives.

Love this place. I appreciate how the team puts an extra focus on making sure you are part of the whole process, leaving nothing a mystery – I know exactly what's going on, why something is being suggested, what they're seeing, and then given many options/next steps to choose from. I've never left feeling I had been pressured to move forward with something I didn't understand or didn't need. I thought I had a great dentist before moving to Smyl, but the team at Smyl has shown me what an exceptional dental experience is supposed to feel like.

5/5 Absolutely Incredible Experience! I recently had a visit here and I cannot say enough good things about this office. From the moment you walk through the door, the staff is welcoming, friendly, and efficient. As someone who gets genuinely anxious about dental work, I was blown away by how comfortable the dentist made me feel. Dr. Mat Laforge Savoie was incredible skilled, gentle and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all my questions with total confidence and clarity, which completely put my mind at ease. If you are looking for a top-tier dental team that genuinely cares about their patients, I highly recommend this office.

Amazing experience and great patient care from start to finish as always. The team here at Smyl Bloor is amazing, always making sure to address concerns in a friendly yet professional manner. What was once a one-and-done visit for an opinion on teeth aligners, to actually having them done, had made me considered making them my go-to location for all my dental concerns and regular oral checkups. A huge shoutout to Dr. Yiu and Dr. Matt, technicians Shiva, Joana and Laura, and receptionists Taneshia and Andrea for making me feel welcome on every visit.

I can't recommend Smyl enough. I got all 4 wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Mat and Shiva. I would suggest to anyone that they are the best people to do it. They made me feel comfortable and safe. Answered any questions I had and explained everything clearly. I was anxious and they definitely helped ease my anxiety. Not to mention I felt absolutely nothing during the process and it was extremely quick. I also got the same treatment from Andrea at the front - she was patient with me and answered any questions I had. The whole team made a really anxiety inducing exprience feel easy and I felt taken care of and supported!

I cannot rate my experience at Smyl highly enough. After being referred for wisdom teeth removal, Dr Mat was reassuring and friendly, bringing levity to the whole process. As a pretty nervous patient I felt very comfortable and everyone was happy to go at my pace. Shiva was also fantastic as the dental assistant and offered me fantastic support throughout the surgery. Thank you to everyone at the practice, you can really tell everyone cares about their patients!
