Everyone has made me feel so welcomed that it feels like I’m already a part of the fabric of the neighborhood, which is what drives my passion for dentistry.
I have spent the last 20 years developing the skills necessary to provide comprehensive care, including:
But at the end of the day, it still comes back to what is the right solution for the person sitting in front of me. That means getting to know the person, not just the mouth.
Oral health is about more than just shiny teeth. It’s about eating whatever you want, when you want; it’s about smiling without covering your mouth. Sometimes it’s getting you out of pain; and sometimes, it’s just about keeping things the same.
A bedrock principle throughout my professional career has always been to focus on the outcome, not the treatment, and that comes down to understanding you and what you want before deciding what is the best treatment for you.
There is a way forward to health and I’m excited to go on that journey with you!

Amazing experience and great patient care from start to finish as always. The team here at Smyl Bloor is amazing, always making sure to address concerns in a friendly yet professional manner. What was once a one-and-done visit for an opinion on teeth aligners, to actually having them done, had made me considered making them my go-to location for all my dental concerns and regular oral checkups. A huge shoutout to Dr. Yiu and Dr. Matt, technicians Shiva, Joana and Laura, and receptionists Taneshia and Andrea for making me feel welcome on every visit.

I can't recommend Smyl enough. I got all 4 wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Mat and Shiva. I would suggest to anyone that they are the best people to do it. They made me feel comfortable and safe. Answered any questions I had and explained everything clearly. I was anxious and they definitely helped ease my anxiety. Not to mention I felt absolutely nothing during the process and it was extremely quick. I also got the same treatment from Andrea at the front - she was patient with me and answered any questions I had. The whole team made a really anxiety inducing exprience feel easy and I felt taken care of and supported!

Really great patient care. I am someone who used to be nervous for the dentist but the team of people at Smyl are truly amazing and have made very visit pleasant and pain free. Dr Grant and Dr Matt demonstrated a deep commitment to resolving any issues, delivering a highly effective and thoughtful care plan.

I cannot rate my experience at Smyl highly enough. After being referred for wisdom teeth removal, Dr Mat was reassuring and friendly, bringing levity to the whole process. As a pretty nervous patient I felt very comfortable and everyone was happy to go at my pace. Shiva was also fantastic as the dental assistant and offered me fantastic support throughout the surgery. Thank you to everyone at the practice, you can really tell everyone cares about their patients!

I had been struggling with a very serious dental infection for nearly a year, which unfortunately caused damage to my jawbone and left me in constant pain. Despite visiting several dentists, no one was able to properly diagnose the issue. Thankfully, I finally found an experienced and highly knowledgeable doctor who is truly up to date with modern dentistry.
In just one session, all of my dental problems were addressed, and for the first time in a long time, I finally felt relief from the pain. I am incredibly grateful for the care and professionalism I received.
The entire team was professional, kind, compassionate, and welcoming throughout the whole process. I sincerely appreciate everything they did for me and would especially like to thank Dr. Yiu and dear Shiva Jan from the bottom of my heart. I truly wish them continued health, happiness, and success.
